Burger King’s Supreme Angus Steakhouse Burger Review

I took the opportunity of the RM5 burger for Supreme Angus Steakhouse at Burger King.

I left house at 5 pm and luckily I reached there in time, just before 6 pm because the offer is until 6 pm only. Apparently the old Burger King outlet near Kinta City mall at the De Garden is no longer available? So the only place would be at Jalan Gopeng, the new outlet. Is the one at De Garden closed permanently or temporarily for construction/renovation? So I rushed to Jalan Gopeng despite scary lightning strikes here and there.

It’s actually very small but it has a drive-thru. It’s next to McDonald’s. So I went to the drive-thru and ordered my Supreme Angus Steakhouse. The condition is that I have to buy a medium sized drink to get the burger at that price so the total cost is RM8.60. Quite expensive I’ll say. So then I quickly rushed home.

It looked like a normal burger. Normal size. But since I chose the black pepper flavor it does have the strong black pepper sauce smell.. just like prosperity burger and I’m a huge fan of prosperity burger from McDonald’s. Just smelling the black pepper sauce alone couldn’t keep me from salivating in my mouth.

When I opened the wrapper, boy am I surprised!

Meat lover would absolutely LOVE it. I mean the portion of the meat is HUGE, bigger than the burger itself. The black pepper sauce was just spilling out. The melted cheese adds the color to the meat. The smell.. oh gosh.. I’m even salivating right now as I’m writing this. For RM5 offer, it was definitely and totally worth it. It looks meaty enough. And yes, it was super delicious! I totally loved it, especially the amount of beef. It was definitely a nice change from McDonald’s.

Now that it’s easier to drive-thru at this Burger King outlet compared to the one at De Garden, I might stop by again. They do have delicious selection of burgers if I want a change from McDonald’s. I’m bored with McD. If only they weren’t so expensive.

RM5 Supreme Angus Steakhouse @ Burger King

Anybody getting this tomorrow??

I’m not a big fan of burger king due to the expensive burgers. However I’m so getting this tomorrow! It’s like the last time when they had the RM1 whopper! Click here to read my RM1 Whopper review.

It was such a hit that I had to wait in a very long queue only to be told that whopper was sold out! Only consolation was that I get to claim the burger in the next 4 days and because I bought an expensive meal set because I was starving after the long queue, I got 2 stamps so therefore I got to claim 2 burgers for only RM1 each!

I hope it won’t be the same for tomorrow and they have enough stock. But now a new burger king outlet has opened in Ipoh so there’s 2 instead of 1 so at least people won’t flock to only 1 outlet. We’ll see tomorrow.

Kracie Popin’ Cookin’ Sushi DIY Candy Set Review

If you’ve never heard of Kracie’s Popin’Cookin’ DIY set from Japan and you’re a candy lover, you’ve been missing out! These are the funnest and most creative do-it-yourself candy set that who else could create but the Japanese.

KRACIE POPIN’ COOKIN’ たのしいおすしやさん / TANOSHII OSUSHIYASAN / SUSHI SET

Ever since I watched youtube video by the popular user RRcherrypie, I’ve been hooked! These candy sets are AMAZING… I repeat, AMAZING. What you can do with it, and how it turns out at the end is just mindblowing. Who knew you could do these realistic looking miniature food set with just packets of powder?

Here’s the video of this sushi set from RRCherryPie. You can see how awesome the candy is.

I went to KL last December and I was hunting down this candy and luckily I found this in 1Utama.. You have to search for it in one of the Japanese stores and it’s quite cheap. If I remember correctly they were just RM12 a box! These sets are beginning to increase in popularity in Malaysia right now, and most online stores that I found sells this for RM25 – RM30 a box. Crazy.

This set does not contain any animal product so therefore it’s quite ‘halal‘ but if you know another set called the ‘ramen’ set, that one isn’t halal. That one has gelatin.

This post is heavy on pictures so I have to put the rest of this entry under a cut. Below the cut I’ve written extensive review on the set. Sorry that the pictures aren’t quite clear because I took them with my phone and there was insufficient lighting. Click below to continue reading about this awesome candy!

Review: McDonald’s Jalan Kuala Kangsar, Ipoh

This has been an overdue post. I was supposed to blog about this back in November 2011 but I have been extremely busy plus struck with mood swings and depression, this post has been delayed.

FINALLY, a McDonald’s outlet has been opened nearby my place! You have no idea how happy I was when I found this out. You see, about 2-3 years ago, there was only 1, I repeat, ONE McD in town. No drivethrough, plus the traffic is always congested there, no place to park.. overall I hate going there. Then one by one McD started to pop up. Nearest to me is at Jusco area.. which, even using the highway, is not that near. Then I heard a new one is being built nearby my place (about 5 minutes of driving if there’s no traffic) and damn, I was overjoyed.

I have been watching the construction from the beginning. I use that road a lot so it’s hard not to watch the building being built while you count the days and wait in anticipation. Seriously.

It’s actually very interesting to see that site, used to be a flower shop, being demolished until the building is built. That’s how much I was looking forward to it.

And boy, the excitement just increased when you don’t see those walls anymore and you actually see the building, 85% done now. Just waiting for the days for it to open. I think it took about 3 months for the whole construction from demolishing the previous building to the opening.

A day after the opening, I went there for breakfast with my mom and my mom’s friend. The place is very colorful. It does feel like a cheerful fast food restaurant and also a cozy cafe. Not bad.

There were colorful balloons, walls, everything. The place was however quite small, but not too small.

There was also a small playground for kids. Beside it there’s another area, more like a lounge? It’s more comfortable in there. The chairs are more comfortable inside too.

We sat there until lunch hour and boy, it started to go crazy. The place was packed with people during lunch hour. It was so crowded and so loud that I got annoyed, haha. I think we must have spent over 3 hours just watching people and talking.

I even spent my new year’s eve there with my friend. Back in December when I had to work mostly outside, I could say every 2 days or so I would stop by and buy my prosperity burger. I can consider myself a regular customer :P I should get special regular customer discount or something haha.

However, I have a bad memory when one night where after buying my food there, as I was going out of the traffic light, some idiot taxi driver stopped for what he thought was red light (it was for another junction) and BAM, I crashed into him. So in turn, I wrecked the front of my very new car, and got fined RM300. Some justice huh? I can’t talk much about this because it hurts too much.

This is Mr. Indy. He introduced himself as the franchisee of this McDonald’s. When he saw me taking pictures inside and outside, he stopped to ask me and then we talked a bit. He’s a very nice and friendly guy. I’m so surprised though because he looks so young. That’s when I found out this McDonald’s is a franchise. If I’m not mistaken, I received a flyer earlier this month that they had the official opening. I missed that however.

Well thank you for making my wish come true… been hoping that a McD would open near me for ages.
