Happy (Belated) Christmas & Happy New Year 2014!
It’s a bit late for Christmas wish but what the heck, MERRY CHRISTMAS!
However it’s still not late to wish HAPPY NEW YEAR 2014!
It’s very sad that the year is ending in a couple of days. It feels like the time passed by so fast. Don’t we always feel that? I am however, like every year, will be determined to make the next year the best possible. This year didn’t end up well for me so I’m hoping, praying, wishing for a good year next year. Christmas was a bit dull for me. I did have a good Christmas eve however. If you’re wondering, no, I don’t ‘celebrate‘ Christmas in religious sense, I just like Christmas. I went out with my friend and received these as gift:
So awesome! My friend bought me the candy canes because he knew that I love Wonka’s candies and also candy canes. Then I’ve been dying for some gingerbread man cookies. Been craving it for a while since the holiday season started. The only place that had it in Ipoh was at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf located at AEON Kinta City. Only regret is that I didn’t get more because I went back on the 26th and they were gone 🙁
They’re deliciously awesome. I hate gingers, but the cookies only have a hint of ginger taste and not overwhelming, which makes it really yummy. They had chocolate with sprinkles on the arms and legs and if I’m not mistaken, this year they added gummies as the buttons. I don’t remember the cookies having them last year.
The only thing that I wish they did is to make the cookies crispier instead of soft and chewy. I had ginger cookies at Ikea a while ago, and they were crispy and very delicious. Again, regret not getting them when I was there. I probably could still find them if I have a chance to go there again, hopefully. Also most of the cookies was crooked, and burnt at the bottom, and they weren’t appealing.
Then comes the Wonka’s Gobstopper candy canes! Now I usually would indulge in Chrismassy type candies when I was in PJ, and one of my favorites would be candy canes. If you didn’t know what ‘gobstopper’ is, it’s a famous everlasting hard-candy by Wonka and also known as ‘jawbreakers’. I love gobstoppers, so I’m suprised my friend got me one in the form of candy canes!
It changes color AND flavor!
I have yet to try it. I planned to devour the candy canes during my Christmas movie marathon but I only ended up devouring my gingerbread men cookies and then I would fall asleep from being too tired to continue with my movie marathon 🙁
Anyways, my friend and I went to Secret Recipe for dinner, and we both had ‘Chicken Cordon Bleu‘, my favorite.
If you look at the picture, the only appealing part of that dish is the melted cheese oozing out of the chicken, that’s it. That plate is as plain as day. Just fries and corns? Were they lazy? Why did they leave the greens out? I remember a quite a long time ago, at least there were lettuce on that plate. You don’t pay like RM15 bucks for a plate of dullness.
After dinner, we stopped by at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, also at AEON Kinta City to have some coffee. My friend had ‘hot vanilla’ while I had ‘caramel latte’.
It was nice to chill for a bit. My friend also had a slice of ‘Passionfruit Cheeze Log’ because come on, if you see how it looks like, no one can resist that temptation. It’s so sinfully delicious-looking, so tantalizing. It was like calling to you. I was unfortunately very full so I didn’t get me some, but I did have a taste and let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint.
Reminds me of lemon meringue pie.
Well that was my Christmas eve. I was going to blog about this sooner but I’ve been preoccupied with other things that I get tired easily and just prefer going to bed instead. Anyways, wishing all my readers a Happy New Year and hopefully 2014 will bring us good luck, good health and lots of happiness, eh? 🙂
