Revisited: Flower Pot Ice Cream Ipoh
When my friend came to visit, I didn’t know where to take her to just hang out since it was already past midnight. The I remembered, it was a Saturday night or more precisely Sunday morning and the place that would be crowded with people would be the KTM fountain park situated in front of the Ipoh railway station.
Since I’ve been craving for ice-creams, I thought I’d check to see if the flower pot ice-cream stall is open. I’ve written about Ipoh flower pot ice-cream before and since I last tasted that, I’ve been wanting to try it again.
Surprisingly, there were more flower pot stalls available now.
We had a hard time choosing which stall that we should try. I tried searching for the exact stall I went to before, but I couldn’t find it. So I went to this stall that looks similar to the previous one, but I’m not sure if they’re the same previous owner.
Their Instagram is no longer available as well. What happened?
When we got our ice-cream, I was pleasantly surprised how nice it looked. The cost is still the same – RM4. However, this time the decoration looked compared to the previous one.
Previously, all I got were some hard candy, sprinkles, and mint leaves. This time we got hard candy (looks like an egg, don’t you think?), mint leaves, flower, marshmallow on a stick, cookie, and a gummy worm on top of crushed oreo! My friend chose vanilla ice-cream while I chose a mixed of vanilla and chocolate.
Unfortunately though, my ice-cream was solid frozen as a rock. So frozen that it took almost 40 minutes before I could eat it. Usually, it would melt instantly. My friend’s ice-cream did. If it wasn’t for the frozen ice-cream, it would’ve tasted nicer for me instead of tasting formed ice.
There are other stalls which are cheaper or more expensive with a different presentation of flower pot ice cream. Maybe I can review them one day if they’re still available.
