‘Selera Muhibbah’ Ramadhan Buffet 2018 @ TPC Kuala Lumpur
TPC Kuala Lumpur (formerly known as Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club) is strategically located in the lush hilltop setting of Bukit Kiara just 8 KM from the capital city. TPC Kuala Lumpur is a 36-hole tournament-standard course. Its proprietor Sime Darby Property designed the club as an elegant and relaxing gold haven surrounded by perfectly manicured greenery.
This year, TPC Kuala Lumpur aims to raise at least RM10,000 with its Selera Muhibbah al-fresco buffet dinner that takes place around its Olympic-sized swimming pool. For every buffet voucher sold, RM1 will be contributed to underprivileged homes. There are a total of 22 stalls along the poolside plus an entertaining live band to serenade diners.

It’s not hard to find the way to the place but it could get a bit confusing with the roads to get to the exact location of the restaurant. But the most interesting experience would be riding this buggy from where we parked our car to the restaurant instead of walking.
It was my first time so it was really exciting. It’s not something you get to experience on a daily basis unless you’re an avid golfer.
Felt like I was at an amusement park.
The dining area was cozy and spacious.
The theme for this year is ‘Selera Muhibbah‘ happening from 19th May 2018 – 12th June 2018.
Received a tin of mints and a small tube of Tanamera’s hand sanitizer. Nice!
The first section that I saw that made me happy – DESSERTS!
You know I always have my eyes on the desserts first and I was so happy to see a variety of beautiful desserts. The selection is quite massive.
Just look at how beautiful they are.
I was happy to see a variety of local and international desserts available to choose from. They had a perfect balance of the sweet cakes and tarts and also ‘kuih-muih‘. You could also find some freshly-made desserts at the live stations like Apam Balik, deep fried stuff like banana fritters and also ABC (shaved ice with toppings).
And I was happy to see my favorite dish – Paru Berlada.
It was the crispy kind and I prefer it to be a tad softer but I still love it. It’s quite rare for me to see ‘paru berlada’ at the buffets I’ve been to before.
All the dishes looked so good. My friend loved the ‘pajeri terung’ so much that she actually had seconds. It was her first time tasting the ‘pajeri terung’.
TPC Kuala Lumpur’s Selera Muhibbah leading chefs are Chef Abu Zaren bin Bakri, Chef Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Rahman and Chef Azmin bin Mohamed Burhan. They will be presenting authentic traditional dishes such as Gulai Ikan Patin Tempoyak, Rendang Hati Lembu, Daging Masak Merah, Telur Itik Masak Lemak Cili Padi and more for the daily buffet spread.
Special local stall favorites include Kambing Panggang, Lidah Bakar, Seafood Kava, Asam Laksa, Fried Carrot Cake, Popiah as well as the new Asam Pedak Lok-Lok and many more.
Assam Pedas Lok-Lok Station.
You can choose your favorite ‘lok-lok‘. There weren’t that many to choose from but there were some veggies and some common favprites like fishballs, meatballs, fishcakes, sausages and filament sticks.
Mashed Potato Stall
One of my favorites! Smooth and creamy mashed potato in warm gravy. Yum!
Lidah Bakar Stall.
I’ve never eaten beef tongue before and just hearing the word ‘tongue’ makes me cringe. My friend insisted that I try it and it’s not every day that you get to see ‘lidah bakar’ so I tried.
And I liked it.
It actually tasted really good.
Kambing Bakar Stall.
Lamb is a must. BBQ lamb is always so good. Tender lamb meat cooked to perfection. It’s always the first thing I’d try at buffets.
Satay is a must!
I forgot to take a picture of my first plate which was the “paru goreng berlada“.
Satay was good! I actually did not eat it with the peanut gravy/sauce so I can’t comment on the taste but on its own, it was really good!
The mashed potato – oh, it was so delicious. So delicious that I regret not having a second bowl.
I added some cheese and some crispy beef bacon bits. Oh yes. Cheese makes everything better.
The Assam Pedas Lok Lok.
I never thought to eat lok lok with assam pedas and it was really good. The assam pedas was spicy and tangy/sour-ish. I find it interesting and refreshing to see something new to try at a Ramadhan buffet.
Of course, the one I always look forward to – desserts!
I wanted to eat everything they had but I was already dying from being too full. So, I just ate a tiny bit of a few things that you can see on the plate. There were all so damn good.
I put together a short video of the buffet in the video below. You could also watch it on Youtube.
